Hey Guys! Happy New Year:) I can’t believe it’s a new decade! I have so much I want to accomplish this year professionally and personally. I hope this year brings us all health, happiness, peace and abundance. I so believe in setting those intentions and making them happen!
On that note, you guys are always asking me about my skincare routine and I specifically get asked “how does your skin always look so dewy and is always glowing?” I don’t think my skin is flawless (THANK YOU to everyone for all the compliments, it’s seriously so nice!) but I will say there are things I do believe in to get better skin. Since you all have asked for more and more beauty content I wanted to make an effort to provide that for you and share my favorite beauty products that I swear by. I truly believe a combination of eating healthy, working out and drinking water do wonders for your skin.
These are the steps toward getting healthy, glowing skin:
STEP 1: Diet is everything! I know it sounds cliché but it’s true. Over 5 years ago I was diagnosed with a stomach disorder so I had to eliminate dairy, gluten and all meat products to get to the root of my problem. Even though at the time it totally sucked I was determined to get healthy. As a result I noticed a huge change in the overall appearance of my skin. Now…I’m not telling you to go on a strict diet but I do believe cutting dairy will change your skin. Eating a mostly plant based diet aided me towards a healthy gut and glowing skin. And drinking water is KEY!
STEP 2: Start with clean skin. I use Purpose morning and night. It doesn’t strip my skin and actually removes makeup.
STEP 3: About 3 times a week I use Rodan + Fields Micro-Dermabrasion paste. It is life changing! It literally makes your skin glow. I use it in the shower just to make my life easier and I honestly notice a difference every time I use this product.
STEP 4: I use SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic (also here) every morning after I cleanse and after I exfoliate with the paste. This stuff is like liquid gold. I swear by it! And since you only use about 3-4 drops a day it definitely lasts a while so it’s worth the price. I then use SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel. It’s super hydrating and makes your skin so dewy. I’ve been using both of these products for years. They are my go-tos.
STEP 5: Moisturize – I use Oil Of Olay sensitive skin moisturizer. It has SPF 15 and is very mild for your skin. I also use Tatcha’s Dewy Skin Cream and it truly does leave your skin dewy. Sometimes I use both together it just depends on the day and how dry my skin feels.
STEP 6: Eye cream – I rotate and use a few different ones. The brands I recommend are SkinCeuticals eye cream, Saturday Skin eye cream, La Prairie Skin Caviar Eye Cream, L’Occitane Divine Eyes and Versed Vacation Eyes.
STEP 7: If I feel like my skin isn’t dewy enough I add a very small amount of Aquaphor on top of my moisturizer. It helps lock in moisture especially in the winter.
There you have it!! My skincare routine is simple and easy. In addition to the above routine I also recommend the below products.
