Hey Guys! Saturday of NYFW was the coldest day ever so it was more important to dress warm than it was to look chic…priorities! That morning was a tough one because it marked one month since my life changed when I lost my brother. I’m allowing myself to grieve and listen to my body when I can’t do things. That being said I missed some morning shows but I ended up pulling myself together to attend Rebecca Minkoff then off to lunch with a group of bloggers, including my great friend Erika (@retroflame). Erika and I met randomly at NYFW a year ago and have been close ever since. Fashion week is way more fun when you have a buddy to hang with. That night I attended a blogger event as well with such a fun group of girls.
Rebecca Minkoff’s shows are always fun because she draws a great crowd as well as has live music. This is definitely her signature touch that makes a world of a difference. This season Rebecca has changed the fashion game a bit by showing her SS16 collection that is currently available or will be available soon. I thought this approach was unique and also awesome since as a consumer I hate waiting for the clothes I see and want now…LOL!
For my look I went with all black with a pop of green and was bundled up in many layers. I wore a Uniqlo heat-tech (which I swear by to keep warm), a thin Splendid turtleneck then a chunky 525 America turtleckneck on top paired with high waisted J Brand black jeans. I styled my Alpha Industries bomber jacket that is super warm along with Stuart Weitzman OTK boots to keep my legs from freezing. I accessorized the look with a Saint Laurent belt, a black Isabel Marant scarf, a neutral cashmere beanie, neutral Chanel boy bag and my new Dior sunglasses. I have to say I loved this OOTD. It was so comfortable, totally my style and I was very warm.
I love that Erika and I were snapped together outside Rebecca Minkoff. Of course we were laughing and snap chatting away as per usual. Follow along (@lisadnyc).
I always love when talented artists illustrate my looks:)
Fit notes: My height is 5’8″ and I wear a size 2.
- Jeans- take your normal size. They are meant to be fitted and high waisted.
- Bomber – I’m wearing an XS. It is a men’s style so be aware it’s larger but that’s what’s cool about it.
- Boots – take normal size.
- Sweater – I’m wearing a size small.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day:) xoxo
