Hey Guys! We just returned from our family vacation in Turks & Caicos celebrating our 6th year wedding anniversary . We had the best time and created memories that will last a lifetime. It was so relaxing and Sebastián loved it. He loves the water just like his mommy and daddy, thank goodness. He was just so so happy and full of joy! Since it was his first international trip-it was very special:) We love the Caribbean and honestly couldn’t wait to take Sebastián. We got married in Anguilla so the Caribbean will always be special to us. Turks & Caicos is only a 3 1/2 hour flight from NYC so it’s super easy, which was the main reason we chose this island.
WHERE TO STAY:
We stayed at Wymara Turks & Caicos (formally The Gansevoort). My sister was married here in 2010 and we were excited to return. I highly recommend this chic hotel. The food, service and location are ideal. We especially loved the pool for Sebastián since it had shallow sections where he could just sit and play. The hotel is situated on the famous Grace Bay beach, which as you can see from the photos is just stunning. The water color is the perfect turquoise. The hotel grounds are so beautiful with white drapes, and these gorgeous flowers cascading around the pool area. Flowers make me so happy so I took most of my photos using these as my backdrop.
WHERE TO EAT:
There were a few restaurants on site, which made it super easy and convenient especially with having a baby. Most of the time we ate dinner at the hotel and enjoyed local, fresh seafood daily with live music. We did venture out to dinner and ate at Coco Bistro, which is one of the best and most recommended on the island. My sister had her rehearsal dinner there so I remembered how amazing it was. Other restaurants to check out are Somewhere (great Mexican), Da Conch Shack (casual, local food), Infiniti (perfect for sunsets), Coyaba (romantic), and Kalooki’s (casual). If you happen to visit Turks & Caicos in May check out The Fish Fry, which is an outdoor party with food vendors and live music. The island is known for their sunsets so we planned our dinners around watching these gorgeous sunsets. It was so magical sharing them with my love buttons.
WHAT TO DO:
Relax and swim in the ocean! No literally that’s all we did. Adrian and I are ocean lovers and could spend all day swimming. We had to take turns since we had Sebastián but when he was awake we all went in together and it was so much fun. He loved the sand, actually we were surprised that he didn’t want to eat it…LOL! When he did discover that he can pick up the sand he tried to put it in his mouth but we were quick to stop him. It’s so fascinating watching him discover the sand and water and laughing when he was in the water. It literally melted my heart!
SHOP THE LOOKS:
I love wearing different looks on vacation. Since it hasn’t been warm in NYC, I was so excited to wear some new pieces I was saving for the trip. With summer just around the corner I hope these looks give you some inspo. Let me know in the comments below what was your favorite look.
Shop both one pieces at Foray.
